The Community Impact Award for Service to the Community
Presented to an attorney or organization whose work extends beyond the office — serving underrepresented populations, supporting pro bono efforts, or strengthening the broader immigrant community. This award honors those who show up for people, not just cases.
In addition to running her solo practice, Liana chairs the AILA-DC Pro Bono Committee which runs dozens of events each year for outreach and service, and she also runs a nonprofit that provides wraparound services to the immigrant community. She is tireless for people in need. She never hesitates to take on another challenging task, paid or not. Liana organized pro bono consultations for hundreds of people in and around DC, and created a team of volunteer attorneys to do them. There are literally hundreds of people who owe their status, freedom, and even their lives to Liana's volunteering.
